Accommodations
Bear Mountain Lodge consists of the two-story Lodge; the adjacent
Myra's Retreat, which is named for the former owner, Myra McCormick;
and the Wren's Nest. All of the 11 luxuriously furnished rooms
feature hardwood floors, handcrafted Mission-style furnishings,
private bathrooms with blue and white ceramic block tile and 1920s-style
fixtures.
The Lodge
The Lodge is the heart of Bear Mountain. Here you'll find the
dining room, library, two expansive portals and the lodge "great
room" with hand-hewn beams and two remarkable stone fireplaces.
The Gila and Mimbres guestrooms, named after The Nature Conservancy's
nearby nature preserves, are located on the Lodge's first floor.
Both rooms have king-size beds and outdoor access. The Mimbres
is fully handicapped accessible with separate shower and tub.
Upstairs in
the Lodge are four deluxe rooms honoring individuals prominent
in New Mexico's history -- Georgia O'Keeffe, Aldo Leopold, Álvar
Núñez Cabeza de Vaca and Lieutenant Col. William H. Emory. These
rooms have private balconies, locally handcrafted queen- or king-size
beds and full-size sofa beds. The bathrooms feature 1920s-style
block tile. For a special treat, try the generous shower/Jacuzzi
baths in the O'Keeffe and Leopold guestrooms.

Myra's
Retreat
This cozy
hideaway honors Myra McCormick, an avid birder and owner of Bear
Mountain Lodge
for 41 years. Perfect for groups or a family reunion, Myra's Retreat
is an inviting, private place just a few steps away from the lodge's
center of activity. Walk into Myra's Retreat and you'll find a
large, friendly common room with comfortable couches and a gas
fireplace. Four private sun-filled guestrooms, named for birds
found in the area, surround the common area.
The Hummingbird
room has one king-size bed, southwestern views and a spacious
bathroom. The Roadrunner room features one king-size bed and a
convertible sofa bed. The Warbler room offers two full beds and
the Bluebird room has one king-size bed. The pine beds were made
locally and each room features Bear Mountain Lodge's distinct
1920s tiled shower/baths.
